What is a Business Coach?
I think every business owner already has the ingredients required to be very successful. “A good coach can open the lid and let it out.”
I don’t see myself as just a Coach there is more to it than that; My job is to work with business owners and help them to think on purpose with more efficient strategies to get results.
A Business Coach is someone who can make an impact on the bottom line and overall growth of the business through strategic milestone-based improvements and proven optimisation strategies to get to agreed-upon goals and KPIs.
Although this is not always the case with some coaches.
If there is still a reasonable demand for the product and or service on offer by the business.
A Business Coach should have the ability to look at the situation in an out of the jar way, or from a 30000-foot view without emotion to establish a baseline and ( Reality of the Current situation) and of course help illicit out the place the business owner wants to get to (Their Ultimate Lifestyle)
Only the business owner can answer what their Ultimate lifestyle is it is not for the coach to say or influence. The Client needs to want it for themselves. It could be more sales, higher profits, more time off, freedom or making a difference in the world.
But a good coach will make sure their client’s Ultimate lifestyle is their Ultimate lifestyle and not what someone else wants for them or what they think is “the right thing to do.”
Importantly this is something that the client and coach need to agree upon as a collaborative; It needs to be achievable.
What does a Business Coach do?
A business coach should have the ability to look at the detailed and big pitcher cause and effects.
For example, “I’m not getting enough leads into my business because my website is not working or my marketing is not compelling.”
The big pitcher is “there’s not enough revenue coming into the business and we can’t pay our bills.”
Now finding out what is the Cause of the lack of leads could be many things or a combination.
- No sales system
- Wrong sales team
- Poor marketing
- Outdated website
- Wrong message to market match
And the list can go on; it’s not a case of just starting to pull levers and make adjustments ill-founded as this can hurt the business and owner more.
Even if what the business owner is doing is wrong it is better to optimise that first before changing it completely. Stabilise the business first and get it strong enough to handle the effects of change. A good business coach will have the ability to help the business owner create a roadmap or blueprint to get the results and support them through the journey.
A journey that can often be simple but not easy, starting in the mind first the coaches job to instil the right mental strategies, methods, and models to give propulsion required for obtaining the targeted goals. The Coach is there to hold the client accountable for what he or she said they wanted to achieve and within the agreed-upon timeframe. To show perspective and help make possible what seems challenging or impossible at the time using there in the trenches experience and a multitude of strategies and tactics to get the results.
The coach is not there to do all the work and should not do the heavy lifting for the client there is no growth for the client in that. The client needs to want it more, and through building a strong relationship, the coach helps the client to achieve the desired results by working together.

Milestone-blueprinting approach and Perspective.
Milestone is blueprinting I put everybody through this step by step process. Perspective is I look at what your personally doing in business and life and I coach you in a way that is personal to you solving the problem, achieving the goal, or overcoming the challenge that is presenting and needs guidance to achieve. I may be less structured than some analytical coaches as in real-world business and life situations, are very fluid and change rapidly.
Yes, Some coaches will go a long way around so that they chip away at the solution until you get it for yourself. I prefer to help the client install powerful mental strategies to think on purpose but understanding that most problems are time-critical and need solving fast. I tend to adopt the Rubber to the road approach starting with what the client wants (Their goals) getting very clear on this and why it is so important.
Then I stretch them and make sure they are pushing outside their comfort zone. So they do the absolute best and not stop short. But Probably most important have them not aim for unachievable results and create unrealistic expectations and false promises of make-believe.
There is reality and gravity (The laws of physics) that need to be applied to keep everything in perspective. A continual discovery of new ways to get to the result with less time and effort keeping the vital ecosystem in harmony. Health, Relationships, Mindset, and Revenue.
Action- Results- Beliefs- Action in a perpetual motion of progress.
